Year 8 Extra-Curricular

We have a variety of clubs available to pupils during lunchtimes and after school.

Unfortunately, due to the current restrictions and guidelines relating to Covid, certain clubs may not be running at the moment.

IT Club

The IT Department has been very active in offering extra-curricular classes to pupils of all ages. Regular activity sessions take place at lunchtime and after school. Pupils may also access computers outside lesson time by negotiation with subject department staff and through the use of a booking system.

Year 8 Drama Club

Year 8 Drama club is a fun and interactive after school club in which pupils can rehearse and perform in a friendly and energetic environment. Pupils get a chance to explore stagecraft and scripted plays, enhance creativity as well as imagination, improve listening and speaking skills, and help to improve self-confidence while working with others.

Music Club

All pupils are encouraged to get involved in the many music ensembles that rehearse after school. The ensembles cater for players of all ability ranges and expertise. Musicians contribute to assemblies, concerts, celebratory events, and joint performances with other schools.

Maths Club

Maths Club is available one lunchtime per week for Years 7 and 8. Pupils are provided with opportunities to enter maths puzzle competitions such as the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge.
