Millom School is very proud of the achievement of its students and its track record in supporting students to secure employment with training, apprenticeships and places at universities, sixth forms and colleges, allowing students to continue their education and develop their skills in preparation for their future career plans.

The “Other” category includes school sixth forms other than Millom School (UVHS, Barrow 6th Form, West Lakes, UTC) and Colleges of Further Education other than Furness College (Newton Rigg, Lakes College, Carlisle College, Kendal College).

18 students successfully secured apprenticeships, which is double the number who secured apprenticeships last year. This year placements include childcare, catering, manufacturing, design, metal working, bricklaying, scaffolding, electrical, mechanics and mechanical fitting.
The percentage of our students not in education or employment with training is below national average for all four cohorts. In 2017 there were two students identified as NEET; in 2018 there was one student identified as NEET; in 2019 there were three students identified as NEET and in 2020 there are currently two students identified as NEET. This is a result of the fantastic careers and progression pathways advice and guidance we offer at Millom School.
