Year 9 Introduction
It is a great privilege to introduce myself as the
Director of Learning for Key Stage 3
. I am truly excited to be working with our students at such an important and formative stage of their education.
Key Stage 3 is far more than just a bridge between primary school and the challenges of GCSEs — it is a crucial period in which young people begin to discover who they are as learners and as individuals. These years lay the foundation for lifelong curiosity, confidence, and character. It is during this time that students develop not only the knowledge and skills they need to succeed academically, but also the values and habits that will shape them as thoughtful, compassionate, and resilient human beings.
At the heart of our approach are four guiding principles:
Empowerment, Equity, Empathy, and Excellence
. We aim to empower every student to take ownership of their learning, ensure equity so that each child has the opportunity to thrive, nurture empathy to help them understand and care for others, and strive for excellence in all they do.
Together — staff, students, and families — we will work to ensure that every young person in Key Stage 3 is supported and inspired to be all they can be.
I look forward to working with you and your children throughout this exciting stage of their journey.
Mrs A Drage
